We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we want it fixed quickly and visibly. This policy explains how to tell us, and what we do about it.
HRITU is published by Hritu, Belarahi, Jhanjharpur, Bihar, India – 847404. Corrections reach a person, not a queue.
How to report an error
Email info@hritu.com with “Correction” in the subject line, or use the contact form. It helps a great deal if you include:
- The link to the article.
- The sentence or figure you believe is wrong.
- What you believe the correct information is.
- A source we can check, where you have one.
How corrections are reviewed
- We acknowledge correction reports, normally within a few working days.
- An editor who did not write the piece checks the claim against the original source.
- If the report is right, we correct the article. If it is not, we reply and explain why.
- If a claim turns out to be unverifiable either way, we remove it.
How corrections are shown
- Factual corrections are made in the article, and a dated correction note is added at the foot of the piece saying what was changed.
- Significant corrections that change the meaning or conclusion of an article are noted at the top instead, so nobody can miss them.
- Typographic fixes such as spelling, punctuation and broken links are made without a note.
- Withdrawn articles are replaced with a short explanation of why the piece was withdrawn. We do not delete an article silently.
Our commitment
We do not remove a correction note later to make an article look cleaner. The record of what was wrong stays with the article.
