Editorial Policy

This policy describes how articles on HRITU are researched, written, reviewed, corrected and updated. It applies to everyone who writes for the site, whether in-house or contributing.

HRITU is an independent publication produced by Hritu, Belarahi, Jhanjharpur, Bihar, India – 847404. It is a small operation rather than a large newsroom, and this policy describes what we actually do rather than what a bigger masthead might promise.

Original content

Everything we publish is written for this site. We do not republish articles from elsewhere, spin existing articles, or publish content supplied by a third party in exchange for payment or links. Where we quote another publication we quote briefly, in context, and with a link to the original.

Fact checking

  • Every factual claim in an article must be traceable to a source before it is published.
  • Numbers, dates, measurements and scientific claims are checked against the primary source rather than a secondary summary of it.
  • Where evidence is genuinely contested or incomplete, the article says so rather than picking the tidier answer.
  • Where we cannot verify a claim, we cut it.

Sources

  • We prefer primary sources: peer-reviewed research, official statistics, original documents and first-hand reporting.
  • Articles that rest on external evidence carry a sources list at the end, with links where the source is publicly available.
  • Recipe methods rest on established cooking technique and on published food science, and the failure modes we describe are the well-documented ones. Where a quantity or a timing is a starting point rather than a tested measurement, the article says so. We do not claim to have kitchen-tested a dish unless we have.
  • Travel articles are compiled from published sources, including official tourism, heritage and transport information. We do not claim first-hand presence, we do not invent personal anecdotes, and we do not describe a place as though we were standing in it. Prices, opening hours and timetables change, so we describe how to choose rather than quoting figures that will date, and we tell you to check the current position before you travel.

AI-assisted content

We use AI tools in the drafting and editing process. What we do not do is publish unreviewed machine output: every piece is read, checked against real sources and signed off by a person before it goes out, and the HRITU Editorial Desk byline means exactly that, an in-house piece for which the editorial desk is answerable. We are not going to dress that up as something else. If you find an error, the Corrections Policy is the fastest way to have it fixed.

Image sourcing

  • We publish images we have made, images we have licensed, and images whose licence permits publication.
  • Licence terms are followed, including attribution where it is required.
  • Images are not edited in ways that misrepresent what they show.
  • Decorative artwork is used as decoration and never presented as a photograph of the subject.

Editorial review

Every article goes through a deliberate review pass before it is published, separate from writing it: claims are re-checked against their sources, structure and clarity are assessed, and the piece is tested against whether it actually answers what its title promises. Where a second person is available to read a piece, they do. We are not going to claim a multi-editor sign-off chain that an independent publication of this size does not have.

Updating old articles

  • Articles whose usefulness depends on current information are reviewed periodically and updated where needed.
  • A substantive update changes the article’s updated date, which is shown on the page.
  • Corrections of fact are handled under the Corrections Policy and are noted rather than made silently.
  • Fixing a typo or a broken link is not a substantive update and is not noted.

Independence and advertising

This site carries advertising through Google AdSense. Advertisements are placed by Google, kept visually separate from editorial content, and never dressed up to look like an article. We carry no affiliate links and no sponsored content, and no company has paid for or influenced any coverage on this site. If we ever add an affiliate or commercial link, it will be disclosed in the article that contains it. Advertising revenue does not determine what we cover or what we conclude, and no advertiser sees a piece before it is published.

Comments

Comments are currently closed across the site. We opened them, received nothing but automated spam, and concluded that an unattended comment section adds nothing for readers. If that changes we will say so here.

This does not close the door. If you know something we do not, or you think a piece is wrong, write to info@hritu.com. A correction sent that way reaches a person and gets the article fixed faster than a comment would have, and it is handled under our Corrections Policy.

Questions

If you have a question about how a piece was produced, write to info@hritu.com or call +91 9155206350. If you think we have got something wrong, our Corrections Policy explains how that is handled.
